Kick-off Meeting!

HRMA is holding a Winter Term Kick-off meeting this Wednesday, January 14th from 4:15-5:15pm in BA 140. This is a great opportunity to introduce new students to our program and get new members signed up.

Help HRMA create a greater connection to the student body by inviting fellow students to check out our organization! 

There are a number of ways to reach out such as making an announcement at the start of class and handing out flyers to simply inviting other classmates you connect with. 

All majors are welcome to join so be sure to spread the word in what ever way you can. See you at the Kick-off!

Officer Meeting, Winter 2015

First Meeting of 2015!

HRMA officers gathered together for Winter Term planning on Wednesday. This proved a great opportunity for camaraderie as well as putting our collective heads together to discuss ideas for upcoming guest speakers, the Kick-off Meeting next Wednesday, and fundraising for the SHRM conference to be held in Las Vegas later this year.

A look back at November

November was a busy month for HRMA. Elections were held, torches were passed, and new beginnings were abound!

New Officers

PSU HRMA is proud to welcome new officers to the team: 
  • Director of Chapter Information Systems - Alexandra Meneely
  • Director of Visibility - Angelene Green
  • Treasurer - Brooke Konrad
  • Secretary - Ashley Newman
Looking to get involved? There is still one officer position available! HRMA needs a Director of Merit to maintain the SHRM Student Chapter Merit Award checklist. (Click to see position details) 

Guest Speakers

Dante James from City of Portland spoke about diversity at our November 5th meeting. He brought real-world examples of workplace challenges and offered insightful perspectives. 

Alan Cabelly shared slides and videos from his recent adventures in Vietnam. 

Finally, Kim Miller and Jamie Autry spoke about compensation for our last meeting of Fall Term. They offered an overview of compensation in the industry as well as helpful details about typical duties of Compensation Analysts. 

What's Next?

With winter break right around the corner we look forward to resuming our weekly meetings again in January. Meeting details TBA by the beginning of next term. In the meantime, good luck with finals everyone! Have a fun and restful break!

HRMA April 24th Fundraiser

We are going to be hosting a fundraiser for HRMA on April 24th. It's going to be Circus themed! After purchasing a ticket, you can meet with other Human Resource Professionals, enjoy food and drink, and play all kinds of fun games at the booths we'll be setting up there! January PHRMA Luncheon *Volunteers Needed*

This is a great opportunity to become involved with the PSU HRMA student chapter!  This volunteer opportnity will also allow you to interact with other HR like minded professionals in the Portland area!  Lunch is provided as well!
